![]() Universal Soldier: A New Beginning
SynopsisWhen a team of former Soviet radicals seizes Chernobyl and threatens to unleash a lethal cloud of radioactive gas one hundred times deadlier than Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined, the US military brings in a bio-mechanically enhanced super soldier, Luc Deveraux, to foil the plot. As Deveraux fights his way into the plant, he faces off with his now revived former nemesis, Andrew Scott, and a newly ‘updated’ Next Generation Unisol, in a battle of battles, and must save the day.
The TrailerThe ReviewWell the sixth movie in the Universal Soldier series finally got it right. The first one was a classic, the rest was forgettable, and hopefully the last one for the series, Universal Soldier: A New Beginning was well delivered. Finally there’s some closure, and let’s hope it put this series to rest, it’s long overdue. The choice in Andrei “Pit Bull” Arlovski was excellent, he’s made for the role of a cold blooded cyborg killer. It’s good he didn’t have any lines anyway, it made the character larger than life, and convincing. And the return of the two former star in the Universal Soldier series, Dolph Lundgren and Jean-Claude Van Damme, well they’re still deadpan stiff in the acting department. You got your usual grunt, thousand-yard stare, eyebrow acting, that’s the best the duo could do. The only thing to look forward to in the movie is the fighting scenes. It was raw, it was power, it was exhilarating. Forget about the silly plot, don’t be a critic tonight, and enjoy your popcorn. The Good
