![]() The Other Guys![]() The Other Guys SynopsisAllen Gamble (Will Ferrell) and Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg) are partnered NYPD detectives who work in the forensic accounting department and rarely see any action. Gamble is more than happy with his job while Hoitz has been assigned against his will after a public incident with his quick trigger finger. They idolise the city’s top cops Danson (Dwayne Johnson) and Manzetti (Samuel L. Jackson), but when an opportunity arises for Gamble and Hoitz to step up, things do not quite go as expected.
The TrailerThe ReviewWill Ferrell’s films are mostly a hit-and-miss when it comes to the comedy part. He has been part of making some of the funniest eg Zoolander, and totally flop production eg Land of the Lost. And ‘The Other Guys’ is no different. Either you like it, or you don’t. There’s no middle ground. For me watching Will Ferrell in short span is fine. That’s why I love him so much in Saturday Night Live, but too much screen-time of Will Ferrell, that translate of him being just so annoying, and toxic. The bottomline, his brand of comedy is just not funny. It just doesn’t seem natural when he delivers his lines. The plot premise itself is a good-cop-bad-cop scenario, so there’s no originality. As much as I tried to keep an open mind about watching this movie, I wasn’t enjoying it. The Good
