The Trailer

The Review

The Informant! movie is set in the 1990s and basically it’s about corporate greed.

The main character in focus is Mark Whitacre (Matt Damon), a bipolar executive biochemist at Archer Daniels Midland who sets out to expose the company ways of fixing prices to the FBI.

Matt Damon’s performance made Whitacre looks nutty, but excellent nonetheless. His wife Ginger (Melanie Lynskey) was convincing for me.

The movie pace however was slow. The establishment of relationship builds up very slowly, and at times you just wish they would get to the point.

The acting was good but it lack the humor, thrill and action.

Basically The Informant! has some plot twists but its no different than being labeled a boring drama with unfocused pace of narration.

The Good

  • Subtle humor
  • A clever movie based on a true story
  • You’ll smirk at the 90′s costumes and hair styles

The Bad

  • I get bored during few scenes
  • Sometimes the narration seems forced
  • The running commentary can be annoying a times
