It tells the story of Dr Parnassus (Christopher Plummer) and his extraordinary ‘Imaginarium’, a travelling show where members of the audience get an irresistible opportunity to choose between light and joy or darkness and gloom. Blessed with the extraordinary gift of guiding the imaginations of others, Dr Parnassus is cursed with a dark secret – a bet with the devil, Mr Nick (Tom Waits), in which he won immortality. Many centuries later, on meeting his one true love, Dr Parnassus made another deal with the devil, trading his immortality for youth, on condition that when his first-born reached its 16th birthday he or she would become the property of Mr Nick. Actors Heath Ledger, Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell play a mysterious outsider, Tony who joins the troupe to rescue Dr Parnassus’ daughter.
The TrailerThe ReviewThis film is visually incredible, but apart from that, for most part I was trying to understand it. I guess one will either love it or hate this movie. There’s no middle ground. I don’t know how to describe it, but watching such a film is a first for me, I’ve to give props of its originality in presentation. It’s like I’m watching a Tim Burton film but weirder And oh yeah, there were too few scenes of Heath Ledger, he stood out brilliantly and you’re wishing for more. Well we know what happened to him, that’s why we have three other Imaginarium Tony. A bizarre movie for me, and difficult to understand. The Good
