Synopsis

I’ve seen plenty of adaptations, and more than often it’s a hit-and-miss.

Some of our best classic tales have been ruined by novice directors, to bad screenplay, but thankfully ‘Ramona and Beezus’ adaptation was an excellent production.

I felt the success boils down to the excellent casting. Joey King playing Ramona, while Selena Gomez as Beezus was spot-on.

It was fun, funny, while at the same time tugs-at-your-heart as you watched this.

Yes it might be a children movie, but as an adult, I truly enjoyed it. This adaptation does credit, and pays homage to the books.

The Good

• Joey King stole the show
• Terrific casting
• A feel-good movie

The Bad

• I would think some of the ‘serious’ topics in the film that might confuse your kids. You’ll need to talk to them to after the movie about it.
