The Trailer

The Review

This is an excellent retelling of Pope Joan, the legendary female Pope.

We all knew her by history, and this movie is by far one of the best among the adaptations out there.

You’ll be glad to know, the film closely follow history, and didn’t deviate much.

Of course there were some glorified and conceited scenes, but that’s movie-making. It didn’t affect much of the plot.

I reckon feminist activist would approve, considering there was a call for gender equality in the story.

The Good

  • Quality in realism
  • Excellent sub-plot

The Bad

  • I don’t like the ending, but that’s history
