The TrailerThe ReviewIt’s been said that Paranormal Activity is one scariest movie of all time. Well not wanting to burst your bubble if you think likewise, I beg to differ. After watching this rather annoying, and trite movie, I want my $8.50 back please. If fact I laughed more at the clichéd scenes while in the theater, rather than be startled scared of the events happened in the movie. The film was based on a ‘reality’ kind of genre movie. Reality is mundane and real, and that’s what the producers of this movie want us to think that these events really happened, where the couple “home movie” format footages was used. I could say it’s along the line of “Blair Witch Project” for which this film was made, and even the Blair Witch movie was better than this, and even that’s rubbish to me. The plot is about a couple, where the female lead, Katie fails to tell her boyfriend Micah that she has a demon of some sort that’s been following her since she was 8 years old. As they moved into their new suburban home, that’s when the paranormal activities happened such as slammed doors, water faucets turned on/off, to noises in the house. Well it climaxed with Katie being possessed and did the evil deeds on Micah. The idea behind the movie is unique, but it fails to deliver on the scary part aspects. 40 minutes into the movie watching, I was annoyed that nothing scary actually happened. The movie was moving at a crawl pace for my liking before any demonic scenes happened. And when the scary scenes did happened, it was just for a moment, and appears only in the latter part of the movie when it was about to end. Everyone loves to be scared and face death while in the comfort and safety of a movie theater or home, but this movie is a pathetic attempt at a scary movie, for which apart from my precious time, it also has robbed of my money too. I felt like a complete idiot by the time the movie was over. Save your money, wait for the DVD to rent. The Good
