Synopsis

LOL or acronym for “laughing out loud” is the nickname that Lola’s friends have given her. When summer ends, and it’s time for school to starts, Lola ain’t jovial and laughing as she used to. Her boyfriend confesses of his infidelity, her divorced parents are out of touch with Lola’s social ways, her friends are making her issues more complicated … all this Lola has to handle in her own LOL ways.

The movie is about all teens, well-off French teenagers to be exact in this movie, and their trials and tribulations of growing up.

A shrewdly clever movie that deals with real current issues our youngsters are facing these days, and in this story, Lola aka “Lol has to deal with a breakup, new found love, friendship and family issues as her summers ends.

Sophie Marceau played the role of the mother to my delight, befitting a role reversal where the French actress was known for her teenage rebel in the 80′s.

As the movie reveals, love does not spare one’s age, as both mother and daughter is torn between responsibilities and flirting with the notion of throwing caution to the wind.

• Lots of eyecandy. The cast are all good looking!
• Plenty of LOL moments
• Scenes well sketched

The Bad

• Some conversation are dull
• Reminds me of my own insecurities
