The Review
Will someone please put this Halloween series to rest, as it’s making a mockery of the original Halloween series.
It’s a movie with silly killing spree, stylish but little substance. If you like plenty of body count, gore, violence and blood, this is the movie for you.
Character development was total shite as everyone in the movie is waiting to be killed. Mr. Rob Zombie, you could at least introduce the characters before making Michael Myers hack them into pieces.
The movie continues from Zombie’s 2007 remake, where Laurie Strode played by Scout Taylor-Compton, a.k.a Angel Myers, sister to Michael a year later coping with the death and destruction that her brother has left behind.
At the same moment brother Michael Myers survived from the first film and is trekking back to Haddonfield. Returning home, anyone that he encountered along the way, well let’s just say they’re gonna have a really bad day.
Michael is under ‘orders’ from the ghost of his mum played by Sheri Moon Zombie, who can’t act for nuts by the way to kill people. Her rationale is that by doing so, it will reunite the family. Go figure.
When Michael Myers is around, nobody is safe. It’s a pretty straight forward plot, Michael grunts, Michael kills, sister screams, sister runs, sister whines … the earlier lather, rinse, repeat throughout the movie.
I however was delighted when finding out that Dr. Loomis was played by Malcolm McDowell, but unfortunately his talent was misplaced for the movie. A passing character that’s just annoying, you’ll be cheering when he died.
However I’ve to give props to the deaths all around. The sounds are amazingly gross, the violence is unreal, makeup effects top notch, and expect plenty of the F bombs.
However for future references, avoid any more of Rob Zombie Halloween movies and just stick to Carpenter’s classic.
The Good
- Gritty movie style
- Movie focuses on the family aspects for this sequel, finally some insights
- I lost count of the number of deaths in this movie. The only thing that’s awesome
The Bad
- White trash movie
- Laurie is whiny and annoying
- Terrible plot
