Synopsis

Paul Morgan (Hugh Grant) and Meryl Morgan (Sarah Jessica Parker) are a high-powered New York couple that have become estranged as a result of prioritising professional and social success ahead of their marriage. During a failed attempt at reconciliation, they have the misfortune of witnessing a murder and are unexpectedly forced to move to a small town in Wyoming in a witness protection program.

I would call this movie pleasant to watch, other than that nothing to rant much about however.

It isn’t as bad as the critics make it out to be, but then again I’m a fan of Hugh Grant stuff.

As usual Hugh Grant plays the bumbling Englishman, while Sarah Jessica Parker for me personally is a miscast, as she’s irritating.

The characters in the film are likeable, espiecially the locals.

You get all warm and fuzzy as you spend more time getting involved in the movie.

Watch only this movie if you want a pleasant diversion for a couple of hours.

The Good

• A light script, nothing too serious
• Implausible funny scenes, but the slapstick still works

The Bad

• The jokes could be better, a little dry
• No chemistry between Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker
• Hugh Grant should get out of such ROMCOM roles, he’s becoming ‘stale’
