Crazy Heart
Synopsis
Jeff Bridges stars as the richly comic, semi-tragic romantic anti-hero Bad Blake in the debut feature film “Crazy Heart” from writer-director Scott Cooper. Bad Blake is a broken-down, hard-living country music singer who’s had way too many marriages, far too many years on the road and one too many drinks way too many times. And yet, Bad can’t help but reach for salvation with the help of Jean (Maggie Gyllenhaal), a journalist who discovers the real man behind the musician. Bad learns the hard way just how tough life can be on one man’s crazy heart.

The Trailer
The Review
This is a one-man show by Jeff Bridges.
The man gave an Oscar-worthy performance, he was just brilliant.
A story with a strong script about redemption and bad love.
Watching this was both a train-wreck and riveting for me.
You’ll loathe at the self-destructive nature of alcoholic Bad Blake, but you’ll also endear his likable character
The Good
- Superb ending, it’s not the typical Hollywood-esque end
The Bad
- Can be depressing to watch
- Feels like I’m watching ‘The Wrestler’ but country music version, or Johnny Cash biopic, it has too many similarities
