The Review

Couples Retreat is a movie about four couples who went on a journey to a tropical island resort.

While Jason (Jason Bateman) misleads the other couples by saying therapy is optional, it was in fact mandatory, he does so as he can’t afford the trip by himself.

From then onwards starts a hilarious turn of events and the confrontation of issues faced by couples in the real world.

The movie has a good cast, but the movie which was based on Vince Vaugh’s idea, well it was only marginally good for me.

There were inconsistencies in the film, and some unlikeable obnoxious character which irks me.

Still it’s an amusing comedy, but uses materials that has been there, done that before.

The women were however sexy, that’s a plus point.

I guess watching too many times of Vaughn’s goofy macho funny stuff becomes too tiring and overused after awhile.

The Good

• Attractive cast
• The setting in Bora Bora was breathtaking
• If you’re into dirty jokes, this film has loads

The Bad

• May be too crude for some
• The plot could have been better
• Too long of a movie, under two hours for a comedy?
