Synopsis

A man writes, lives and loves in darkness. Fourteen years ago, he was in a brutal car crash on the island of Lanzarote. In the accident, he not only lost his sight, he also lost the love of his life, Lena. The story of Mateo, Lena, Judit and Ernesto Martel is a story of “amour fou,” dominated by fatality, jealously, the abuse of power, treachery and a guilt complex.

The Review

This is a riveting psychological thriller.

Director Pedro Almodovar and actress Penelope Cruz makes such magic when they collaborate.

It helps too that Penelope Cruz is such an eye-candy.

The story however depends too much of flashback and that’s annoying for me.

Still the layered stories and interesting sub-plots that makes the movie stood out.

This is a story of love that is unrequited.
