Synopsis

Inspired by the director’s experience, this movie is about Jinhee’s (Kim Sae Ron) emotional journey after being left behind by her dad to a Catholic orphanage. In disbelief, she attempts to run away time and time again. She finally accepts her fate, forced to hope and wait for her possible adoption. Jinhee’s time at the orphanage will be one of multiple and permanent separations that have barely forged bonds and are destined to be shattered. And at the journey’s end, there will be the promise of perhaps a brand new life.

Watching this movie will tug at your heart.

There’s a certain innocence to this film, a heartbreaking tale of separation and love.

The dialogue can be sparse at times, but at times scenes are more impactful if there’s less to say.

The plot very much focuses from a child’s point of view, and it refreshing to watch how the script unfolds.

There’s many layers to this story, aided by excellent acting and camera-work, this is a worthy investment of your time.
