The Review
This is a road movie of sorts as a pregnant couple took to the road to search for the ideal place to raise their new family by visiting their friends and dysfunctional family across America.
Sam Mendes directed this movie, the very same person who was at the helm of the award-winning, “American Beauty”, and while “Away We Go” is a different movie, it has a “American Beauty” surreal feel about it.
There were excellent supporting roles such as Maggie Gyllenhaal to Jeff Daniels.
The characters were likable, and you’ll be able to relate to the movie, as you’ll notice your own lifestory within the film.
The film for me teaches that the only perfect home is one when you’ve a partner who shares the same wants in life, and as long as both support each other.
The Good
- Hilarious script
- Approachable movie
- Well acted and directed
The Bad
- The score was boring
- Can be depressing for some scenes
- The supporting cast on-screen time too short
